nullmi (the site) was first created on July 10, 2023.

My journey into web coding began while I was searching for an alternative way to host my art. My old stomping ground was my tumblr art blog which I had since 2015. However, I was growing disatisfied with how tumblr was being ran. Finally, on November 2018 I decided to delete all my tumblr blogs.

I've joined a few other sites to fill the gap, but no other social media site ever felt like home. Then, I was made aware of neocities.

In my initial drafts for my neocities site, I played around with the idea of making a pure art gallery/portfolio. But, it didn't feel like fun in the end and felt like work.

I didn't want to consistently pressure myself to make professional looking art pieces. I didn't want to appeal to a massive audience. It felt like a dead-end once again. Then, I decided to look at what other people were making on indie web. And, well it was old school and very endearing? I looked around more and found other nifty sites, and I really wanted to make something similar!

As I progressed in this site's development, and as a person, I found that I had a great longing to return to the old age of the internet. I found a lot of heart and love poured into indie web.I too longed for a place to share the things that I loved instead of being blasted with topics and media I was impartial towards or wasn't fond of.

Thus, nullmi.space was finally born.

Now this site is my main hub! I spend more time on this site and browsing on other people's personal sites than on modern-day social media. This site is a little cringe-y, admittedly. A good portion of it is dedicated to my old fan OCs turned original characters, art I drew a decade ago and my plethora of incorrect online opinions, but it's mine.

Aaaand there are a lot of sites like mine. Indie web is full of really cool people with really fun sites and amazing pages. Check them out! Get into indie web, look into nekoweb and neocities and start cultivating your internet experience. My little site is just a small drop in this big ocean.

Anyway, with this out of the way, thanks for stopping by. Indie web is glad to have you here.
